Please note:
Hose down your horse with water after exercise ensuring they are not hot to touch before applying the cooling rug. If the cooling rug is applied whilst your horse is hot, it will require resoaking after 20 minutes to ensure your horse is cooled before leaving on for longer periods.
Our cooling rug has not been tested for turnout, whilst the material is quite strong, they may not withstand being rolled on, bitten or rubbed against fences etc. We recommend monitoring your horse whilst wearing to ensure it is resoaked when necessary.

I bought it in case I have to transport him in this South Texas heat. 2 days ago I decided he should try it anyway. He was quite hot, fans and all. It has been 110 degrees here. Checked it about 3 hours later, blanket was dry. When I took it off he was not sweating at all and skin was at a nice temperature. Will be using it quite a bit. He looked a lot more comfortable

Love Love Love these products . This is the first “Cooling” set I have purchased that actually does what it says , I have always had problems in the past with them heating up specially the legs and had to be making sure to watch. I left these on in my box for a good length of time and went and checked to find they were still cool ! The materials used are great quality and the sizing is true to size. I love how easy it is to use and the only thing required is access to water and a bucket . Thank you Equidaw !
Love the cooling blanket, neck, and legs. I use the neck to walk my horse out after working in the Arizona heat, then put the blanket and legs on for a bit after returning to the stable. The craftsmanship is excellent. I expect the items to withstand many years of use.
The cooling rug has been a real game changer for us! It has been amazing to travel the horses home in after a competition, keeping them cool the entire time, preventing them from overheating. We also use the rug after exercise at home and it has now become an essential item in our daily routine for the warmer days!
I saw Equidaw rugs at Windsor horse show and was very impressed with the concept, even more impressed when my rug arrived! The overall quality of the rug, material and fittings are really good. I brought a 7’ rug for my horse and it fits perfectly, great fit round shoulders and chest, for a broad chested horse! Main reason for purchase, is to keep my horse cooler during warm and hot weather spells. He’s stabled during the day and is asthmatic, keeping him cooler reduces the risk of overheating and having breathing difficulties. We also use our Equidaw rug after exercise, for travelling, any situation where keeping cool is needed. Not only does the rug look great on my horse, it’s a very functional and essential item on the yard now!

When I first got the cooling rug I didn’t have the neck piece. I didn’t think it would really be an issue as I already had to cooling rug. However, after using the rug for the first time I immediately decided I needed the next piece. The rug did exactly what it was supposed to be today and the difference in the temperature between my horses body and his neck when I got him off the lorry after a long day, travelling was insane. His neck was hot, clammy and covered in sweat where his body was perfectly normal. I love how the neckpieces is detachable, which makes it versatile. What are the cooling rack on its own is an absolute game changer, the neckpiece is just the icing on the cake.
I first saw the cooling rugby at Hickstead and was immediately drawn to it. Not only did it look stylish the science behind the rug looked amazing too. While I am very lucky to have a horse that doesn’t often feel cold. He does struggle in hot weather, especially after training and when travelling. This can be an issue, especially as we often travel anywhere between 3 to 6 hours to get to shows and my horse area of my horsebox does not have air-conditioning. So, the idea of a rug that would stay cold for hours on end and lower a horses temperature was an ideal solution. Unfortunately, on the way home from Hickstead. We were caught up in an accident which left us at a standstill for over three hours and 20° heat. This resulted in me having to sponge my horse off in the Horse area as he was so hot. When we finally got home and I got him off the lorry he came off wet, sweating, and literally, steaming. It was at this moment that I immediately remembered the cooling rug and wish I’d bought it at Hickstead. The next week were off to another show, but this time I had my cooling packed and ready. It was another hot day so before I left the show l soaked the cooling rug for about 15 minutes, placed it on my horse and headed home. Once again, we ended up in standstill traffic, but when I went in to check my horse, I was amazed by the difference. The cooling rug was still wet and he was perfectly comfortable. When we finally got home and I unloaded him. The difference was insane. There wasn’t any sweat on him, he wasn’t steaming and the rug was still wet I didn’t even need to hose him down after travelling, which is something that I always have to do. While the rug is a must for travelling, it is also perfect to use to help lower your horses temperature after training sessions and on hot days or at stay aways your horses is stable for long periods of time in hot weather. Having the cooling rug on my lorry is now a necessity and I will not travel without it as this product really does work.
